Electronic Arts, maker of many popular video games such as Madden NFL and Command & Conquer, has been licensed by Hasbro to create the Scrabble application for Facebook. For the most part, the app was simple and basic. However, over time, users began to experience problems such as player names showing as "anonymous" and accessing the archives folder for prior games resulted in their computers freezing up.
Many users complained, some of which joined the EA Scrabble forum just to make their input. EA did provide a voice, but over the past few weeks, that voice has echoed silence. That silence was in most part as EA was performing some Beta testing on their new platform for Scrabble.
I was part of that Beta testing and made my comments as well as got to see other comments. There was an overwhelmingly agreement that the Beta testers disapproved of the new layout. However, EA rolled out the new platform regardless. Thus, Scrabble users are furious - and their only place to turn is Zynga's lame rip-off of "Words with Friends".
Fortunately for Scrabble lovers, there is the Internet Scrabble Club (http://www.isc.ro).
As for those that play on their mobile app, no changes (yet), but do not be surprised to see you having fewer Facebook friends playing with you if they access the game only via computer.
For those of you that do play Scrabble via Facebook - how do you like the new layout?
